Scarlett Bangkok Showcases a Tartare Menu with A Rare Experience

Tartare Bangkok | Scarlett Bangkok

Food should always be exciting. Be it the thrill of discovering something new and creative, or the way your heart flutters upon seeing your favourite dish leave the kitchen and make its way to you. Food itself is an experience – one that is always meant to be savoured, treasured, and remembered.

In its pursuit of such gastronomic adventure, Scarlett Bangkok has introduced a rare new experience to its dining room. The team behind this French-inspired restaurant and wine bar has taken a French classic – the Tartare – and created a unique Tartare Menu that explores the dish in different variations.

Let’s Tartare About It!

Whether you’re a true meat lover or a gourmand with discerning taste buds, this unique tartare menu proves itself to be extensive – featuring dishes across four categories: Meat, Seafood, Vegetable, and Sweet.

Lovers of the classic beef tartare can find excitement in reimagined versions of the traditional dish. It’s given a local twist with the Thai Tartare, made with hand-cut beef tenderloin and egg yolk, then flavoured with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, ginger, lime, peanuts, and coriander.

Bolder flavours and fun textures can be found in the Mexican Tartare, where pickles and tomato confit add a fun contrast of tangy-sweetness, and the addition of nacho chips bring a welcome crunch. Other unique renditions include the Oriental Tartare, which uses hand-cut lamb fillet instead of beef.

On the seafood front, the humble Seabass Tartare brings familiar, clean flavours, enhanced by salty pearls of salmon roe, and lifted with a refreshing combination of pomelo, line, and ginger. A surprise presence of vanilla adds an unexpected sweetness and depth. Scarlett also plays with the natural sweetness of scallops with the Scallop Tartare, marrying it with mango and passionfruit.

For vegetarians, there’s the Beetroot Tartare, whose vibrant red hue mimics the classic dish. A combination of roasted and raw beetroot makes up this version, spruced up with pickled red onion, dill, coriander, capers, spring onion, and hummus for creaminess.

And finally, something for the sweet tooths or the dessert course. Naturally, Scarlett had to pay homage to its home city of Bangkok with a Mango Tartare – where fresh yellow and crisp green mango are the stars. Flavoured with lime, basil, and vanilla, it’s finished with a fluffy coconut espuma to tie everything together.

Pair it with a Sip of the South

To complete this rare experience, Scarlett also looks to bring guests on a tour of the South of France with wines from the Languedoc and Provence regions. Three bottles will be made available for the pairing, the first being a 100% Shiraz from Domaine Saint Dominique for THB 1,490. The white comes in the form of a Viognier for THB 1,390, also from Domaine Saint Dominique, and a rosé from Château Roubine La Vie en Rose made from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Tibouren, Syrah, and Rolle.

The Tartare Menu and the South of France Wine Tour will be available throughout July and August from 5pm onwards at Scarlett Bangkok.
